Only a few places left for Ireland's 1st Chinese Summer Camp

夏令營 xià lìng yíng
Summer camp 2012

Dublin School of Mandarin Chinese established back in 2009 and is excited about the first ever Mandarin Chinese summer camp in Ireland.

I just realised today that UCD Confucius institution is running its first ever summer camp for secondary school age children (200 eur per week)!!  Mandarin Chinese is getting popular in Ireland and this subject will be on leaving cert hopefully starting in 2014.

UK has announced that subject such as French, German, Mandarin, Latin & Greek will be made a compulsory part of the primary school timetable & the move to make languages a requirement from age seven will form part of a new primary National Curriculum, taking effect in 2014.

You won’t need to send your child/ren all the way to Asia to experience Mandarin Chinese immersion.  We offer our children in Ireland first experience about Chinese language, traditions, food & culture and etc.

Through games, singing, dancing, varies cultural workshops like cooking, calligraphy & etc, story & video, speech & drama project and outdoor games. This camp is promise to be a fun one to kick off the summer!

The cost is 130 euro per child per week (100 euro for our students).

Week 1: 2nd to 6th July

Week 2: 9th to 13th July

10:00 am to 14:00pm

Please note the location for this summer camp is at Cabinteely Community College.  We will offer fruits and snacks at the 1st break. Please bring your own packed lunch and drink.

This is like winning the Oscar....I have an endless thank you notes and let me start with the food.
Thank you Jane, Jessica, Doherty and Yifang for making the yummy dumplings, sushi, chilled noodles, tomato domes and drunken chicken! Also, your help on the day was greatly appreciated!
Thank you Kim & Emi for your sushi and soft drinks! Thank you!
A special thanks to Mia, Ella & mom for making the beautiful dragon boat which many children had a lovely go with it.
Now finally, thank you KB, Barron, Patrick, Anna, Lifang, Yifang & Evan for helping out with cleaning so I was able to get out of that hall on time!  Hope I haven't missed any names here and thank you for forgiving me if I did! I told you it's going to be long!  Xie xie ni men!
